My name is Avgeri Maria and I am a midwife with more than 24 years of experience in obstetric care and in supporting new families. During my career, I have worked both as a freelancer and as a private employee in large maternity hospitals in Athens and Thessaloniki.

This experience has given me the opportunity to support hundreds of families at each stage of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care.

What inspired me to follow the profession of midwifery was the my deep need To support young mothers and contribute to the creation of a a new and stable family. I always found exciting and moving the journey of pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal care. I wanted to I'm thereto support the young families in this unique, beautiful and challenging route.

Available from specialisation in natural childbirth and water birth, as well as certifications for pregnancy and postnatal massage, baby massage and baby spa. I also have first aid degree on children, newborns and adultswhich I believe necessary so I can provide the best possible care to the families I support.

What I love more in my job is the magical moment that a newborn faces the world for the first time. His first look is full of life, hope and purityand it's this moment that gives me the Power to continue with the same passion and the same dedication.

I deeply believe that the role of the midwife is fundamental in the creation but also in the support for the new family. The midwife is not just a health professionalbut a companion in one of the most important and transformative life journeys. Today, along with my partner, Marcienda Lillo, we have created a place we've been dreaming of for a long time, the "Birth and Bloom", a place that was missing from the city of Thessaloniki.

This centre is dedicated to the holistic care of the new family.
